![]() ![]() I said that I hadn’t realized that so could they reprint them from my email/booking # which I showed him. I didn’t have them and was told that we were given all boarding passes in FM (4 days earlier). I went to the counter for our check in and they asked for my boarding passes. Today we checked in an hour before departure, most others were already on board so the lobby was empty. I’ve been a passenger on this ferry many times and love this as an option vs driving. Otherwise, a good journey with a stunning sunset. How about having to reserve your seat of choice when booking, allowing others to do the same and if you want 6 seats you have to pay for them. This situation needs to be properly monitored by staff on board to stop it happening. Also, seats were 'reserved' with bags whilst the owners spent the time upstairs on deck or elsewhere. Frustratingly, as already mentioned in a previous review, people were taking seats/tables for 6 and only using 2 seats and dumping luggage on the other seats. This time we successfully got seats inside in the aircon. Return journey - arrived 4.30pm (for 6pm departure) and there was already a huge queue waiting to board. Not sure what time we needed to get to the Boat in order to be inside? spent much time standing to try and be in the shade. Boat already very busy and only seats were outside on top deck in the sunshine. Early start and we arrived 40 minutes before departure at 8am. I will not use them again and people should be aware that if you expect a refund, you won't receive it all because of their weaselly 'terms and conditions'.Įfficient ride to the Keys, water was very calm. ![]() I asked for a definition of a 'convenience fee' considering how seriously inconvenienced we had been by their inaction but received no response. I wrote back protesting this, pointing out if they had - for instance - a hundred customers they were pocketing a $6 'convenience fee' from, that was a nice little earner for doing absolutely nothing. Key West Ferries refunded a chunk of our claim but withheld a 'convenience fee' of $6.00 per traveller. Anyway, we had to claim a refund and go to the trouble of hiring a car to drive from Key West to Fort Myers. We received this message while lying on a beach in Key West so this was a puzzling prediction (the weather the following day was relatively clear). The day before, we received a call saying the ferry had been cancelled because of expected 'bad weather'. Booked the Key West Express for a journey from Key West to Ft. ![]()
